Share Info About West Orange
West Orange is the westernmost town of the four "Oranges". Situated northwest of Newark, this suburban Essex County community maintains a charming, suburban feel. Some areas of town are incredibly wooded and have beautiful and large, well-maintained homes. Other areas have more modest-sized homes, on smaller lots, but if you're looking for a multi-family building, there are plenty options available. Flanking the town are several low-rise NJ apartment buildings, but many available West Orange apartments can be found in the various garden apartment complexes around the area. Being the large township it is, West Orange can be separated into four distinct neighborhoods: Downtown West Orange & The Valley, The First Mountain, Pleasant Valley & Pleasantdale, and The Second Mountain. In The First Mountain section, you'll find gorgeous homes of Victorian, Jazz Age, and Tudor styles; including many large estates on blocks that boast sweeping views of Newark and New York City. Residents of West Orange apartments are lucky to be so close to the South Mountain Reservation, which lies in the Watchung Mountains. This massive, 2000-acre nature reserve maintains a natural, wild feel, with several hiking paths throughout the forest.
