If you think living in Trumbull, Connecticut, is a desirable next step in your life... well, clearly you're no alone. In the past few years the accolades for this medium-sized Fairfield County town have been pouring in, with Trumbull landing high on a number of those "best places" surveys, including Family Circle's "Best Town For Families" list, where it came in 7th in the country. Little wonder, then, that Trumbull was ALSO ranked as Connecticut's "Top Booming Suburb" by the realtor Coldwell Banker. Trumbull is in the southeastern section of Fairfield, and is bordered to the north by the town of Connecticut town of Monroe, to the east and southeast by Shelton and Stratford, to the south by Bridgeport, and the southwest and west by Fairfield and Easton. The town is just over 23 square miles large, and has a population of more than 36,000. One of the main attractions of Trumbull for families is the extensive network of public parks, which when combined add up to to almost 1,500 acres of woods and hiking trails, ponds and lakes and swimming pools, playing fields, golf courses, and picnic areas. Living in Trumbull also means access to a first-rate, innovative public school system, with well-regarded programs at all levels, and for all sorts of students. And even though Trumbull is no one's idea of a "small" town, geographically, again and again residents talk about the friendly-community feel of the place. In addition to local businesses and boutiques, quality restaurants and pleasant cafes, specialty grocers and farmstands, residents also take advantage of both the Westfield Trumbull Mall and the Hawley Lane Mall, which offer up all of the convenience and big-name stores you'd expect.
