Share Info About Rutherford
Situated just eight miles west of Midtown Manhattan is a beautiful suburb of Bergen County nicknamed "The Borough of Trees". Lining the streets are quaint homes and a few low-rise NJ apartment buildings. The town of Rutherford has a beautiful downtown area, especially seen along Park Avenue. And with a train station directly downtown, this bedroom community is incredibly accessible from NYC. Rutherford is home to the Rutherford Memorial Park, which lies on the banks of the Passaic River. This 30-acre park has two baseball diamonds, five softball diamonds, five tennis courts, two basketball courts, three playgrounds, and even a football stadium. But this greenspace isn't the only one within the town, as several smaller parks flank the area. Unique to this suburban community is the Meadowlands Musuem, which interprets the region's historyand the heritage of the area's Native Americans. The NJ Transit train station services the town with lines to Hoboken, where commuters can take the PATH train into Manhattan. Also available are NJ Transit bus lines, which take passengers directly into Midtown Manhattan's Port Authority Bus Terminal in less than 30 minutes. Residents of Rutherford apartments can easily drive east on Highway 3 to the Lincoln Tunnel.
