Nutley is a suburban town located at the northeastern corner of Essex County in New Jersey. A charming neighborhood for families, the housing stock in this community consists mostly of single-family homes. But there are also plenty of NJ apartments available, including a few in the garden apartments around town. There is no lack of recreational space in Nutley, and a whole swath of sports fields can be utilized in the town's eleven parks. Nutley's main commercial strip is along North Franklin Avenue, with local establishments running along its two-mile section in town. Although there are no train stations in the town itself, commuters living in Nutley apartments have the option to catch the NJ Transit express buses from Styertowne, where one can hop on one of these buses and be taken directly to Midtown's Port Authority Bus Terminal in about 30 minutes. The town has a rather unique history. In the early 18th century, Nutley gained its first major industry by opening a brownstone quarry, where the region's rich geology was used for building ornamentation. And the town's quick growth brought more homes and businesses, transforming the community into its current state. Today, Nutley is regarded as one of the "Best Places to Live" in New Jersey, consistenly earning high marks by the New Jersey Monthly magazine.
