Share Info About North Bergen
Situated in New Jersey's Hudson County is the township of North Bergen, notable for its incredibly hilly landscape. Shaped like a backwards letter "L", this neighborhood extends from Secaucus and Union City at the south, all the way up to Ridgefield and Edgewater at the north. Separating North Bergen from the Hudson River waterfront are communities like West New York, Weehawken, Fairview, and Union City. The municipality's sloping roads are lined with many single-family homes, on rather small lots. Bungalows are the relatively abundant in the neighbrohood, however, there are several low-rise apartment buildings dotting the community as well. For the large size of the town, North Bergen has only a small sliver of waterfront along the Hudson River. Here lies North Hudson Park, a large greenspace near the river's edge, with its own lake, running track, baseball diamonds, and a soccer field. Commuting into Manhattan from North Bergen apartments isn't as difficult as it may seem. Near the southern end of town are the Tonnelle Avenue and Bergenline Avenue Stations, both serviced by the Hudson Bergen Light Rail. This train will take you to Hoboken Terminal and into Jersey City, with stops like Port Imperial along the way. From the Port Imperial Station, commuters of Northern NJ apartments can easily (and very quickly) take the NY Waterway ferry to Midtown and Lower Manhattan. From Hoboken Terminal, passengers can make the simple transfer to the PATH train to Manhattan, as well as the NJ Transit trains to locations all over the Garden State. For those residents who prefer to drive, travelling to Manhattan is fairly direct, with an entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel just south of town. Other nearby roadways includes the New Jersey Turnpike, as well as Highway 3.
