Living In: Mahwah

Share Info About Mahwah
Mahwah is a town in Bergen County, at the border of the state of New York's Rockland County. Here, single-family homes meet garden apartment complexes, meet commercial districts. This town, although not populous, is rather large, and has quite a diverse mix of uses. In 2008, New Jersey Monthly Magazine ranked Mahwah as the 9th best place to live in New Jersey. Mahwah is also home to the Ramapo College of New Jersey, a public liberal arts college situated in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains. Nearby are two nature preserves that offer several hiking trails and wooded space for recreation. Namely, Ramapo Valley Reservation and Campgaw Mountain Reservation which are some of the region's largest parkspaces. The Ramapo Valley Reservation consists of 3,300 acres of preserved forest in beautiful rolling hills. Yet both are great spaces for a beautiful Autumn hike or day to wander through the peaceful land. Commuters living in Mahwah apartments have the option to commute into New York City via the NJ Transit train. The train ride into Hoboken takes just over an hour, and the PATH train from Hoboken into Manhattan is another fifteen minutes. Not the quickest commute, but the distance is absolutely made up for with Mahwah's extensive and beautiful landscape.
