The Village of Kings Point is located on the North Shore of Long Island in Nassau County, New York. Kings Point is in the Town of North Hempstead on the Great Neck Peninsula. The Manhasset Bay wraps around the east and north and Little Neck Bay to the West. The village spans approximately four square miles and is home to approximately five thousand New Yorkers. Public transportation to and from Kings Point consists primarily of the Long Island Rail Road in connection with the MTA New York City Transit. The Commute to Manhattan takes approximately one hour and forty minutes by public transportation and approximately fifty minutes by personal vehicle. Kings Point was home to F. The park also has four softball diamonds, five Har-Tru tennis courts, two all-weather basketball courts, a soccer field, horseshoe pitching, and a sled hill. It is one of the five major parks in the Great Neck Park District including Steppingtone Park, Steppingstone Waterside Theatre, Memorial Field, Allenwood Park, and Village Green & Rose Garden. The United States Merchant Marine Academy is located in the village of Kings Point. This is one of five United States service academies charged with training officers for the United States Merchant Marine, branches of the military, or the transportation industry. Established in 1943, the academy serves to educate approximately one thousand midshipmen in the areas of Marine Transportation, Logistics and Security, Marine Engineering, Marine Engineering System, and Marine Engineering and Shipyard Management. The Great Neck Public School District and the Great Neck Library serve the community of Kensington. The district is comprised of three high schools (Great Neck North High School, Great Neck South High School, Village School), two middle schools (Great Neck North Middle School, Great Neck South Middle School), four elementary schools (E.M. Baker Elementary School, John F. Kennedy Elementary School, Lakeville Elementary School, Saddle Rock Elementary School), as well as a nursery school (Parkville School).
