Not to be confused with similarly-named Garden City, Garden City Park, NY is only about three square miles within the Town of North Hempstead. Formerly, it was considered part of Queens County, but that changed in 1874. As Garden City Park is actually a non legal entity, it is part of the maily system of New Hyde Park, and uses the zip code of 11040. Living in Garden City Park, New York allows a point of pride in the hamlet's soccer team. The team is known across all of Long Island. The Garden City Park Tide, as the soccer team is called, has had two undefeated seasons and won over one hundred games. The Garden City Park Fire Department has been around for over 100 years. It protects the hamlet with seven companies: Truck One, Engine Two, Engine Three, Engine Four, Rescue Five, Juniors Explorer Post 150, and Ladies Auxiliary. Truck Company One was formed in 1911, and has received multiple awards. Engine Two was formed fifteen years later, and has had sixteen members become Chief of the Garden City Park Fire Department. The Ladies Auxiliary has been around since the 1920s, and its purpose is to provide support to the fire department. It is formed by wives and relatives of other department members (all of whom live within The Garden City Park Fire District). There are four schools within the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District. Garden City Park School is within the lines of Garden City Park.
