Share Info About Bayonne
Bayonne is a Northern New Jersey community bordered to the east by New York Bay and to the west by Newark Bay. Located in Hudson County, this is a relatively suburban neighborhood with some beautiful, tree-lined streets. Bordered by Jersey City to the north, this community is just across the Kill van Kull from Bayonne's southern neighbor, Staten Island (connected by the Bayonne Bridge). The housing stock in this neighborhood consists mainly of single-family homes, yet many low- to mid-rise apartment buildings dot the area, and there are plenty of NJ apartments to find. Residents of Bayonne apartments have access to Jersey City and Hoboken via the NJ Transit's Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. This train will take passengers into Hoboken Terminal, where they can transfer to one of the New Jersey Transit lines, as well as the PATH train into Manhattan. Commuters can access Lower Manhattan and Midtown Manhattan by way of the PATH train, which comes fairly frequently during rush hour. Bayonne's main thoroughfare is Broadway, where the local establishments can meet just about every need. Restaurants and pizza shops are abundant, yet there are several markets and other shopping districts in the area. Constable Hook is the southeast subsection of Bayonne, and is home to the Bayonne Golf Club, a gorgeous private golf course right on the Hudson River. Also located on this quasi-peninsula is the new Bayonne Crossing shopping development where residents will have access to a few major warehouse stores.
