Share Info About Battery Park City
Battery Park City apartments are found in a neighborhood of a leafy, almost suburban atmosphere. The neighborhood's 92-acre enclave is located downtown between the West Side Highway and the Hudson River, south of Chambers Street. Many of these condos also offer available rentals, and many are considered "green" buildings because of their environmentally conscious amenities. Battery Park City has become one of the newest, larger neighborhoods to find unique NY apartments near Wall Street and the Financial District. The neighborhood has several apartment buildings situated among striking walkways, bike paths, parks, and family friendly playgrounds. The popular Esplanade, which runs for 1.2 miles, showcases beautiful views of New York harbor and the Statue of Liberty. Battery Park City apartments offer easy walking access to Wall Street and Tribeca, as well as to the sprawling Chamber Street subway stop and transportation to just about every other part of Manhattan. Adjacent to Battery Park City is Tribeca, and its abundance of restaurants in all price ranges, including two of New York’s most elegant dining establishments, Bouley and Chanterelle. In the affordable range you will enjoy Tribeca Grill and the hot new Locanda Verde, both co-owned by Robert DeNiro. There are also plenty of dining options, within Battery Park City itself, as well as free concerts and other events in the World Financial Center's soaring Winter Garden. Despite its sense of peaceful isolation, all the pleasures and conveniences of New York City living are right on the premises of the neighborhood, including a state-of-the-art, 11-screen Movie Theater and a huge new Whole Foods supermarket right across the street. To the south, Battery Park itself faces New York Harbor with extensive views of Governors Island, Staten Island and New Jersey. At the Castle Clinton National Monument, a remnant of the Revolutionary War, you can purchase tickets to both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island ferries.
