Atlantic Beach is considered a charming neighborhood, much like neighboring towns in Nassau County, even with its close proximity to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. It stands east of Jones Beach and south of Lynbrook long Island New York. People who live in Atlantic Beach closely identify with their neighborhood as it is unique and distinct from many different areas in Long Island. The town is almost exclusively residential, with some commercial stores along Park Street and The Plaza in the Village of Atlantic Beach and Beech Street in East Atlantic Beach. The Atlantic Beach community is a seasonal community where people all from the Northeast comes for the amazing views and water activities. There are tons of different oceanfront beach clubs that occupy a large portion of the Community's Atlantic Coast. The town now comprises a thriving beach community whose population increases dramatically during the summer months. With an influx of seasonal residents from New York City and nearby Long Island towns who are drawn to these waterfront amenities. Most community housing consists of separate single-family housing with front, side, and rear yards. More than half of the community's housing stock was constructed before 1960, with many homes dating back to the 1920s when the community was first developed. These development patterns contribute to the community's historical character. Atlantic Beach Long Island economy is driven by beach clubs and recreational facilities that incorporate more than half of the land in the area and provide significant seasonal employment opportunities. The operating properties in the Community include 14 private beach clubs along Ocean Boulevard and a public beach club at Silver Point County Park, which all view the Atlantic Ocean. The beach clubs are a major source of income for the town. Families are now seeing that there is great opportunity and value of raising a family in Atlantic Beach Long Island. With being so close to New York City which is just only 22 miles away. More and more families are heading to the shores because they have an easy commute to Manhattan plus they have the luxury of coming home to stunning views and feeling at easy after a long work day. It's a very activity community which offer's ton of exercise classes for swimming, biking, running, sailing and so much more. If you're the type of family that loves to travel frequently. John F Kennedy International Airport is only minutes away. While LaGuardia Airport is just 15 miles away. People are now seeing the convenience of Atlantic Beach because of the location which it sits on. Families often take nature walks at Silver Point Country Park, O'Donohue Park, Bayswater Park and New York's known Gateway National Recreation Area. The School district in Atlantic Beach is one of the strongest in Long Island which makes it an easy choice for families to move here.
